Description

I first gave a presentation on IXP Manager to GPF in 2017 introducing it and then again in 2019 when we added RPKI support to route servers. One of the biggest changes in IXP Manager since then is that it has grown in use from ~30 IXPs in 2017 to over 200 today.

In this update, we will give a brief introduction to IXP Manager for anyone who is not familiar with it and then touch in some of the key developments since 2019. These include PeeringDB OAuth integration; huge optimisations to route server configuration generation; and a number of other features. We will also look at the next development priorities.

We will shortly release a new version which includes a web-based UI to allow route server policy changes rather then with unwieldy and complex community tagging and import filters. We've turned multi-day change control requirements into a checkbox exercise!

We launched a new website in 2020 and we have been collecting stats on all the IXP Manager installations around the world and, for the first time, we will explore some of the results.
